On Saturday, November 12, 2011 Cornell University will host a Women of Color Conference–themed “Where’s My Movement?”  The conference brings to reality the vision of a few Cornell undergraduate students who embarked on a journey to create this conference in the Fall of 2010.  Since it’s beginning, this small collective has grown to include a planning committee of around 25 committed and passionate undergraduate students and staff advisers.  The Conference will take place in the Robert Purcell Community Center at Cornell University and will commence at 9:00 AM continuing until 4:30 PM.  You need not self-identify as a woman of color or Cornell student to attend; this event is open to the public and we welcome people of all genders, races, sexualities, and identities. We hope to see you at the conference!

The Women of Color Conference will work to create unity across boundaries that have been both internally and externally constructed to oppress but  that have also empowered women of color  to build pride.  This conference will give voice and strength to experiences that are often marginalized and will foster further self-reflection and awareness of issues that affect women of color at Cornell and in the broader world.
